After a 12 week break, the Irwindale Race Trucks were back in action on the high-banked 1/2 mile speedway. Lacie spent all of Friday night "knocking the rust off" and working on her line. The team went into raceday feeling very confident, posting the 2nd fastest time in practice and backing that up with a second place qualifying effort (Lacie's fastest lap ever in the truck with a 19.479). There was no invert, rewarding Lacie's strong qualifying run with a starting position on the outside of the front row. After a huge accident in the back of the field on lap 1, a full race restart saw Lacie shuffled back to the 3rd position. She held her own as series points leader Ryan Partridge worked his way around her after he started deep in the field. From there Lacie pulled away from the rest of the 18-truck field, benefiting from a mechanical failure on the #71 truck of Christian McGhee, who sits 2nd in the points, and allowing her to secure her 2nd-consecutive podium finish. Lacie now has only a 6 point deficit to 2nd place in the Championship points standings. We will be back for more on October 4th! Gates open at 4pm, autograph session at 5:45pm, racing at 7pm.
